Yanga dental clinic is a healthcare infrastructure as a service company in Nigeria that provides dental healthcare facilities for dental healthcare professionals and their patients.

Problem Statement

Dental clinics are often faced with the challenge of managing appointments. This can be a time-consuming and inefficient process, especially for large clinics with a high volume of patients. In addition, the traditional method of booking appointments by phone or in person can be inconvenient for patients, who may have to wait on hold or visit the clinic during business hours.

Goals

  • To conduct user research to understand the needs of dental patients and clinics.
  • To design a user-friendly and accessible web application that meets the needs of users.
  • To test the application with users and gather feedback.
  • To launch the application and promote it to dental patients and clinics.

Objectives

  • To make it easy for patients to book dental appointments online.
  • To improve the overall patient experience by providing real-time appointment availability and the ability to cancel or reschedule appointments easily.

User Research

I interviewed a group of 10 dental patients to understand their needs and pain points when booking appointments. Asking them about their experiences with booking appointments by phone or in person, and what they would like to see in a new online appointment booking system.

  • Patients want to be able to book appointments online 24/7.
  • Patients want to be able to see real-time appointment availability.
  • Patients want to be able to cancel or reschedule appointments easily.

Competitive Analysis

We conducted a competitive analysis of other dental appointment booking web applications. We looked at the features offered by these applications, as well as the user interface and design.

I used the data from the user research and competitive analysis to design the appointment web application. I focused on creating a user-friendly interface that was easy to navigate and use. I also made sure to include all of the features that were important to the users.
